The Past is Prologue

As adults we must come to a reckoning and an understanding of morally competent leadership. We must come to recognize and reject those traits within those who would offer themselves for positions of leadership who persist in undesired behavioral patterns of avoidance of responsibility; deflection and blamelessness for their actions. If we are to have good governance, we must put aside our purely personal and self-aggrandizing desires for the good of the whole. Ultimately, its not about what position I can attain in the next administration, or what contracting opportunity I can avail, or what seat on a board I can get appointed to. These narrow minded me centered concerns is what leads to the selection of persons with flawed psychological and emotional petty childlike ego centric behavioral character constructs eventually revealing themselves in a self-sabotaging manner in adults.

It is not by accident or happenstance that Kasim Reed presided over a corruption filled administration. He selected, hired, and retained all the persons who have plead guilty, or been found guilty of violating the law and those yet to face justice. He engaged in the ethical lapses that had him to do the things he did in office. He is the author of his own administrative manifesto that to this day has him in the crosshairs of a federal wire and mail fraud investigation.

If we are honest with ourselves, we must admit that as much as we would like to see a strong competent leader in Atlanta, that person is not Kasim Reed. His time has come and gone, and it is time to move on. We cannot reconstruct his personality, or reform whatever character traits were embedded in his psyche long ago in his childhood development process. We can only wish him luck in what ever future endeavors he decides to pursue, just not as our 61st Mayor of Atlanta. It is time for any one of the other qualified candidates to be chosen
– ANYONE BUT KASIM REED.
